Diário RPD app privacy policy

About this policy

Cacto Tech provides Diário RPD. This policy covers the app on Android, iOS, Mac Catalyst and Windows when used locally, without cloud sync. You do not need a cloud account to keep a diary. Offline use means your records are kept on your device; it does not mean every optional service works without an internet connection. If you choose to enable cloud sync, its separate policy also applies: Cloud sync privacy

Information on your device

The app stores the information you choose to enter: situations, thoughts, evidence, emotions and intensities, behaviors, consequences, tags, cognitive distortions, notes and attached photos. It also stores mood and energy logs, pills, pill groups, intake dates and notes, reminders, settings, subscription status, drafts and local backups. These records can contain sensitive personal and health information. They are not anonymous simply because they are stored locally. During offline use, Cacto Tech does not receive a copy of your diary records, mood logs, pill logs or photos.

How information is used

Your local information powers the diary, editing, calendar, reminders, statistics, reports, backup and restore features you choose to use. Reports are generated on your device. The app uses subscription status to determine access to Premium features. Advertising and optional technical diagnostics have separate purposes described below. We do not send your diary content to advertising services or use it to personalize ads.

Storage and security

Records are stored in the app’s local database, with separate local storage for drafts, caches, settings and logs. Without diary encryption, the diary database is not encrypted by the app. Enabling a PIN with diary protection encrypts the diary and its cache; an older screen-lock-only PIN must first be upgraded to encryption. Your PIN and recovery codes protect access to the encryption key. Keep the recovery PDF safe: someone with a recovery code and an encrypted backup may be able to restore the diary. A recovery code is needed to restore an encrypted backup on another device. Losing both the PIN and recovery codes can make the encrypted diary inaccessible; Cacto Tech cannot recover it for you. Use a device lock and protect your files. No storage or security measure guarantees absolute protection.

Photos and reminders

The app uses the system photo picker or camera when you choose to attach a photo, and file access when you choose a backup or export location. Where required, it asks for notification permission to schedule local diary and pill reminders. You can manage permissions in your device settings; refusing one may limit the related feature. Reminders are scheduled on the device. Pill reminders use a generic message when a PIN is set, but notification titles and other previews may still be visible depending on your settings. Choose titles carefully and review your lock-screen notification settings.

Exports and sharing

Saving or sharing a report, photo, backup, recovery PDF or log file is your choice. The destination can be another app, a person, an email service or a cloud drive you select. That destination handles the file under its own privacy practices. Exported PDF and CSV reports can contain sensitive information and are not protected by the diary PIN. Keep recovery codes and backups private, and review files before sharing. Device or operating-system backup and transfer services are also controlled by your platform settings. They are separate from Diário RPD cloud sync.

Retention and deletion

Your local records remain until you delete them or remove the app’s data, subject to your operating system’s behavior. You can edit and delete entries and logs in the app and manage local backup files through Data management. Deleting a record does not delete older backups, exported files, shared copies, system backups or copies on other devices. Clear or delete those separately at their destinations. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data can lose your local diary; keep a backup if you want to retain it. Local deletion is not a guarantee that storage remnants are securely erased. Removing the app does not cancel a store subscription.

Technical diagnostics

If diagnostics are enabled for your installed build and Send diagnostics is on in Settings, the app can send technical events, performance measurements and error information to Cacto Tech’s diagnostics service when connected. The setting is on by default; a build without an enabled diagnostics service sends nothing through that service. Technical data can include the app version and build, operating system, device model and manufacturer, a random installation identifier, operation names, durations and error types. The service also receives the network connection’s IP address. App diagnostics exclude diary text, photos, mood and pill content, account details and authentication tokens. Turn off Send diagnostics and restart the app to stop future app diagnostics. This switch does not control AdMob, store services or information you choose to share. Logs kept locally on your device can contain more detail; review them before sharing them with support.

Advertising

The Android and iOS app may show Google AdMob banners, interstitial ads and rewarded ads. When connected, Google’s advertising SDK may collect or share IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), advertising or other device identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Identifiers can be personal data. The app does not supply diary text, emotions, pill information or photos to AdMob. Available advertising choices depend on your device, region and Google’s services; use your device’s advertising and privacy controls. There is no in-app ad-personalization switch. Ads and rewarded-ad access need an internet connection. Google explains its data practices here: Google privacy policy

Stores and subscriptions

Google Play and Apple handle purchases and subscriptions where in-app billing is available. The app receives product, transaction or purchase-token information and subscription status to provide or restore Premium access; it does not receive your full payment-card details. Store distribution and any information associated with your store account are handled by the relevant provider, including Microsoft for Windows distribution. Manage or cancel subscriptions through the store where you purchased them. If you separately enable cloud sync, purchase verification with that service is covered by the cloud policy. Your choices and requests

You can use the diary without a cloud account, edit and delete local information, use the available report and backup tools, manage permissions and advertising controls on your device, and turn off app diagnostics. For questions or applicable privacy rights concerning data Cacto Tech actually receives, such as support correspondence or technical diagnostics, contact us below. We do not have access to a diary used only locally and cannot remotely retrieve, correct or delete it. Do not send diary content or recovery codes to establish a privacy request.

Policy updates

This policy replaces the original app policy dated January 6, 2024. We may update it when the app’s features or data practices change. The current version is published on this page, and the Last updated date identifies the revision. The app’s privacy-policy link opens this page. Cloud sync continues to have its own separate policy.
